Scrap Blanket..

Like everyone who knits and crochets I always have little bits of yarn left over.

I decided to put them all together and make a traditional granny square blanket made out of scraps of yarn

Blue and white Blanket..

I had some James Brett Baby Marble DK yarn which I combined with a white DK baby yarn to make this lovely and quite large granny square baby blanket

Summer Special ~ A Candy Cane Virus Blanket ..

I recently bought this yarn and didn't know what to make with it and having just completed a Virus Shawl I wanted to see if I could turn the Virus Stitch from a triangle shawl into a square blanket.

Searching on You Tube I came across another excellent tutorial from Bella Coco with easy-peasy instructions on how to make this rather pretty square blanket.

The yarn I used is from the new Pattercake range of DK baby yarn from Sirdar Snuggly


This shade is Candy Cane and I used a size 4mm crochet hook

Blue Shawl Summer..

 I saw this pattern on The Crochet Crowd's channel on You Tube and I had this lovely DK yarn I wanted to use for a project

Ombre Luxury 100g Knitting yarn from  the Home&Co Collection at B&M

72% Acrylic 18%Wool 10%Nylon

This sample square matched the book I was reading !

The finished shawl is a perfect length to wear as a wrap or in winter it will be a cosy scarf.


The wool is really soft and the colours in the yarn are a lovely mix of light and dark

Baby White V-Stitch Blanket..

Following on from my success with the yellow V-Stitch blanket I have been commissioned to make a white baby blanket in V-stitch.

Edged with a shell effect, it looks really pretty

Shopping in the yarn department of John Lewis recently I discovered this wonderful new baby DK which is perfect for a sumptuously soft baby blanket

It is from the  Sirdar Snuggly brand and is called Candy Cane (752)

Yellow V-Stitch blanket..

I've had this wool for so long that I thought it was about time I made something with it!

This lovely yellow DK yarn has a pretty mingled thread which pops up from time to time, making it a real pleasure and such a unique pattern. It's a pleasure to work with.

It's a budget brand but no less workable for that and it crochets and washes beautifully.

Made in Wonder Knit by Crown Crest this V-Stitch blanket is edged in cream DK
